U.S. Congress Passes ‘Kelly Slater Resolution Bill’
Nine ASP World Titles, 43 ASP World Tour victories and the current ASP World No. 1 spot are not enough for Kelly Slater (USA), 38. Now, the Floridian is being recognized by the United States Congress in a bill dubbed the "Kelly Slater Resolution". While we're not entirely sure what the "Kelly Slater Resolution" is, it goes to show that when you're as dominant a force as the iconic natural-footer has become, even world powers take notice. Gabe Kling’s Wild Ride by ESPN.com
Gabe Kling (USA), 29, seems to have experienced all of the highs and lows of professional surfing over the last three years. The Floridian talent has qualified for the prestigious ASP Dream Tour, twice, and on his second go amongst the elite, suffered a crippling knee injury that sidelined Kling for all but two ASP World Title events on the 2009 calendar. Despite the setbacks, the hard-working competitor bounced back to clinch the ASP PRIME 6.0 Lowers Pro over 35 ASP World Title standouts earlier this month, proving he has no plans of slowing down. ESPN.com sat down with the powerful regular-footer to get his thoughts on the last year. This...is their story...
