Flores Slater and Reynolds Rip Tahitian Lay Days
With so many down days at this year’s Billabong Pro Tahiti, it’s safe to say that the natives were getting wrestles. However, if you’re tapped into local guru Raimana Van Bastolear, then you may have a few tricks up your sleeve. Jeremy Flores (FRA), 22, current ASP World No. 24, teamed up with Raimana and fellow ASP World Tour surfers Kelly Slater (USA), 38, and Dane Reynolds (USA), 24, to score some reefs on the other side of the island and let’s just say they may know of a couple hidden gems. Reynolds Goes Berserker at Home!
Dane Reynolds (USA), 24, current ASP World No. 4, is without question one of the most progressive masterminds the surfing world has ever seen and has successfully displayed his raw approach to dismantling waves both in and out of a singlet. The talented Californian’s calm demeanor towards competition has left many confused while several of his fellow competitors have attempted to follow in his footsteps. Conlogue Wins in Spain
Young American Courtney Conlogue (USA), 18, charged to back-to-back Women’s ASP 6-Star final appearances, this time, taking out the victory over reigning ASP Women’s World Junior Champion Laura Enever in a Final rematch at this year’s Cabreiroa Surfing Girls in Pantin, Spain to move to No. 2 on the ASP Women’s World Ranking, significantly helping her chances of qualification for the 2011 ASP Women’s Dream Tour.
