Reigning two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS), 29, clinched his second consecutive Quiksilver Pro France Title this week, besting current ASP World No. 1 and past nine-time ASP World Champ Kelly Slater (USA), 38, in thundering French beachbreak barrels at Culs Nus Beach in Hossegor France. The wild victory posted by ‘White Lightning’ puts him at No. 3 on the ASP World Title Rankings moving in to Portugal.

Miranda Snags ASP 6-Star Supersurf Internacional
Underground Brazilian warrior Bernardo Miranda (BRA), 27, marched to victory at the ASP 6-Star Supersurf Internacional in three-to-four foot (1.5 metre) waves at Pria de Santinho over young up-and-comer Gabriel Medina (BRA), 16. The crucial victory pushes the Brazilian natural-footer up to No. 73 on the ASP World Ranking and with the ASP 6-Star Oakley Rio Surf Pro International unfolding this week, Miranda will look to make a push to find his way amongst the ASP Dream Tour in the back half of the season.
