Fitzgibbons Goes Back-to-Back
After taking numerous runner-up finishes over the years, Aussie talent Sally Fitzgibbons has proven that her 2nd place streak has officially been broken. After putting on an amazing performance to win the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, Fitzy followed up immediately by winning last week’s Subaru Pro TSB Bank Women’s Surf Festival by topping dangerous Hawaiian Carissa Moore for the second consecutive time.

Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic is ON
The opening day of the Commonwealth Bank Beachley Classic waiting period has kicked off today and the firing surf igniting Dee Why point and with the ASP Women’s World Title Race reaching a boiling point, the ASP Top 17 are sure to deliver for this year’s Beachley. Will Miss Gilmore rebound and take her fourth Beachley title, will Sally Fitzgibbons’ hot streak continue, will Carissa Moore regain the lead on the ASP Women’s World Title Race? Time will tell!

Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro!
The time has come for a heap of the world’s best surfers to flock to the hallowed cobblestone reef of Lower Trestles in San Clemente, California this week for the third ASP PRIME event of the season. The Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro is set to host 25 ASP Dream Tour surfers as well as the most promising young talent as they battle for the vital points towards their ASP World Ranking at one of America’s best waves from May 3 through 7, 2011.

Ross Partners with 1% for the Planet
Dan Ross member of the elite ASP Top 34, has joined “1% for the Planet (1%)”, pledging a portion of his income to support non-profit organizations focused on sustainability. Members of 1% contribute one percent of revenues directly to any of the approved non-profit environmental organizations in 1%’s network. Non-profits are chosen based on referrals, track record and environmental focus. Over 2,300 non-profits worldwide are included in the 1% program.
