Breaking Down Scores at Teahupoo
The job of an ASP judge is far from an easy task. While the judges break down each ride with a fine-toothed comb throughout a contest, their decisions are often subject to criticism from passionate enthusiasts. With the Billabong Pro Tahiti awaiting a colossal swell, Surfline.com caught up with Pritamo Ahrendt, the Head Judge of the Billabong Pro Tahiti judging panel, to get his insight on how the ASP Judges break down rides at Teahupoo from inside the tower.

Status Quo with Jordy Smith
Jordy Smith, was currently sitting at No. 2 on the ASP World Title Race following his big win at the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay, but entering the Billabong Pro Tahiti, Smith has changed his mindset, leaving his victory as a piece of the past to focus all of his attention on the task at hand, tackling massive Teahupo’o barrels. STAB Magazine caught up with Mr. Smith and got his thoughts on everything from his new truck to his model girlfriend to his intentions on the ASP World Title and his thoughts on the monster swell prior to its arrival for the Billabong Pro.

SriLankan Airlines Pro
The 2011 SriLankan Airlines Pro is set to unfold this week, marking a unique contest that will showcase both the first stop on the men’s ASP World Longboard Tour as well as a women’s ASP 6-Star shortboard event. The unique blend of men’s and women’s surfing will land at Arugam Bay in Sri Lanka from August 30th to September 4, 2011. Tune in and WATCH IT LIVE!

Andino Wins Vans Pro, Take ASP NA Pro Junior Title
American up-and-comer Kolohe Andino has been on an absolute tear, the youngster from San Clemente, California blitzed through equal 3rd places at the US Open and Sooruz Lacanau Pro before winning the ASP 4-Star Vans Pro in Virginia Beach this past week. In addition to the victory, Andino has capped off his year by clinching the ASP North America Pro Junior Series Title and the innovative natural-footer will lead the Americans as the top seed for the upcoming ASP World Junior Tour.
