Slater and Fitzgibbons Take Nike US Open
The 2011 Nike US Open saw reigning 10-time ASP World Champ Kelly Slater clinch another massive victory in his typically heroic fashion in front of a sea of people at Huntington Beach Pier when he defeated Yadin Nicol in a dominant final. Sally Fitzgibbons won the final stop on the 2011 ASP Women’s World Title series when she defeated dangerous wildcard Lakey Peterson to win her third elite contest this year to cap off the season!

Toledo and Peterson Win Pro Junior in HB Brazilian darkhorse Filipe Toledo established his name alongside the collage of South American talent who are pushing the barriers of progressive surfing when he entered the ASP 4-Star Nike US Open of Surfing Pro Junior as a Wildcard and tore through the field to stand atop the podium by defeating Kolohe Andino, John John Florence, and Conner Coffin at Huntington Beach. Lakey Peterson also won big by taking the women’s ASP Pro Junior, marking her second consecutive ASP North America Pro Junior victory this year.

Guillermo Satt Takes Arica Pro Challenge
Chilean charger Guillermo Satt won the ASP 3-Star Arica Pro Challenge at the perilous wave of ‘El Gringo’ when he defeated fellow countryman Camilo Hernandez. The two Chilean standouts were the only surfers to post flawless 10-point rides at the lefthand-slab, which was a former location for ‘The Search’ event on the ASP World Tour.
