Carissa Moore Wins the Rip Curl Pro!
ASP Dream Tour rookie Carissa Moore (HAW), 18, clinched her second event victory of the 2010 season, snatching the Rip Curl Pro Portugal over reigning three-time ASP Women’s World Champion and current No. 1 Steph Gilmore (AUS), 22, by carving up a striking backhand performance on the lefthand walls of Lagide. The European victory earned by the Hawaiian prodigy slingshots her to No. 5 on the ASP Women’s World Title rankings entering the next women’s event, the Rip Curl Pro Search in Puerto Rico.

Freestone and Wright Win Oakley World Junior
Australia swept the first event of the inaugural ASP World Junior Tour, the Oakley ASP World Pro Junior in Bali. The Gold Coast’s Jack Freestone (AUS), 18, defeated Dale Staples (AUS), 19, in a breakthrough performance in firing barrels at Keramas while Tyler Wright (AUS), 16, topped France’s Alizee Aranaud (FRA), 18, in an impressive come-from-behind win. Will Australia clinch both men’s and women’s ASP World Junior titles in Narrabeen?

The fourth of five stops on the O’Neill Cold Water Classic Series, the ASP 6-Star O'Neill Cold Water Classic Canada is marching through the early rounds in the chilly waters of Tofino on Vancouver Island with some of the globe’s finest names battling it out for the precious ratings points on offer towards their ASP World Ranking. Is Parko Back? Injury Update by ASL
Joel Parkinson (AUS), 29, 2009 ASP World Runner-Up, has been out of commission the past four events. As you’ll recall, the week before the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay, Parkinson suffered a horrific fin chop to his back (right) foot, relegating him to the couch for the past three months. The stylish natural-footer missed Jeffreys Bay, Tahiti, Trestles and France, and he will miss Portugal and Puerto Rico. However, today was a turning point. Today saw Parko back in the water and on a surfboard for the first time since the injury. Australia’s Surfing Life (ASL) was there is get the photos and the angle.
