With a few different breaks in the arsenal of options at Stop No. 3 of 11 on the 2011 ASP Dream Tour, the Billabong Rio Pro will surely provide no shortage of action as the 2011 ASP World Title Race heats up in Brazil.

Moore Wins Billabong Rio Pro
While the men’s contest has yet to kick off, the Billabong Rio Pro saw Carissa Moore extend her lead on the 2011 ASP World Title rankings after defeating Sally Fitzgibbons in a hard fought final at the main event site Barra da Tijuca. Moore’s win coupled with Stephanie Gilmore’s equal 3rd place result means that the reigning four-time ASP Women’s World Champ is officially out of the ASP Women’s World Title race this year, guaranteeing that there will be a new number one by the end of the season.

Ribeiro Wins at Gran Canaria
Young Portuguese up-and-comer Vasco Ribeiro won the ASP 3-Star Islas Canarias Santa Pro Junior last week over Frenchman William Aliotti at Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. The standout performance by Ribeiro also vaults him to the lead on the ASP Europe Pro Junior Series to substantially help his cause towards qualification for the 2011 ASP World Junior Tour.
