Green is Gold at Rip Curl Pro Search The 2011 Rip Curl Pro Search was an exciting event on multiple fronts. Veteran campaigner Kelly Slater clinched his 11th ASP World Title in city’s first major ASP event while young Brazilian rookie Gabriel Medina won his second event in just four shots. The 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York marked the 6th of 11 events on the elite ASP World Title Series and was a huge success and both the ASP and Quiksilver are disappointed to call the event off for next year, but still look to an exciting full season of surfing on the 2012 ASP World Tour.
