Green is Gold at Rip Curl Pro Search The 2011 Rip Curl Pro Search was an exciting event on multiple fronts. Veteran campaigner Kelly Slater clinched his 11th ASP World Title in city’s first major ASP event while young Brazilian rookie Gabriel Medina won his second event in just four shots. Rip Curl was also instrumental in successfully working with the city of San Francisco to make the event as environmentally friendly as possible and achieved great success. Vans Triple Crown Sets Viewing Record Vans Triple Crown action has wrapped up yet another season and the North Shore’s seven mile miracle saw over 100 international standouts tackle everything from one-foot Haleiwa, to bombing Sunset, to unforgettable Pipe. This year’s action proved to be one for the record books on all fronts and the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing set the record for the highest-viewed action sports event of all-time!

Quiksilver Pro New York Canceled Quiksilver and the ASP announced that the Quiksilver Pro New York will not return to the East Coast of the United States as a stop on the 2012 ASP World Title Series. The 2011 Quiksilver Pro New York marked the 6th of 11 events on the elite ASP World Title Series and was a huge success and both the ASP and Quiksilver are disappointed to call the event off for next year, but still look to an exciting full season of surfing on the 2012 ASP World Tour.
