INTERVIEW: Mick Fanning
The 2012 ASP WCT season has seen no shortage of action, with four ASP World Title leaders after four contests, ensuring there is a serious race for crown this year. Two-time ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS), 31, has proven to be the most consistent surfer thus far and surpassed close friend Joel Parkinson (AUS), 31, after his performance in Fiji and Stab Magazine caught up with Fanning to get his thoughts on being the new leader of the pack.

Walsh Wins in Chile
Australian charger Anthony Walsh has taken out the ASP 3-Star Maui and Sons Arica World Star Tour Chile after a week of firing waves delivered at ‘El Gringo.’ El Gringo became an iconic wave to the international surfing world after the Rip Curl Pro Search brought the ASP Top34 to the Chilean slab and the location has been a staple on the ASP since. Walsh’s performance was impeccable thoughout this year’s event and he topped an impressive list of hard-chargers to secure his spot on top of the podium.

O’Leary Claims Victory in Korea
Australian upstart Conner O’Leary has won the Murasaki Quiksilver Jeju Open of Surfing, topping former ASP WCT standout Nathan Hedge in a near-perfect performance. The young talent gave Hedge little chance for a win in the final, belting a 9 and 9.50 to put his opponent in a combination situation to secure the his name as champion of the first ever ASP contest in the Republic of Korea.

Top 10 Goofy-Footers According to C.J.
C.J. Hobgood is without question considered one of the best right-foot-forward surfers of all time. The 2001 ASP World Champion’s signature style and prowess in heavy barrels has secured his position among the ASP World Title hopefuls for well over a decade and recently SURFER Magazine caught up with Hobgood to get his expertise on which goofies have have the greatest impact on the sport. ASP Women’s WCT to Air on Eurosport 2
While the 2012 ASP Women’s ASP WCT will culminate this August at the U.S. Open of Surfing, Eurosport 2 will offer fans of the ASP WCT the chance to watch all of the season’s highlights on their new show. ‘Intimate Surfing’ will have a show dedicated to each stop on the season, giving fans a unique view into the lives of the world’s best women’s surfers.
