Now, the Floridian-born “citizen of the world” has joined the ranks of sporting gods Muhammad Ali, Joe Namath, Michael Jordan, Björn Borg, Julias “Dr. J” Erving, Tom Brady, the world-renowned Tim Lincecum (huh?), among others in GQ Magazine’s “25 Coolest Athletes Ever”. Pires Signs with Quiksilver Entering his fourth year on the elite ASP Dream Tour, Tiago Pires (PRT), 30, Portugal’s only member of the Top 34, made a big sponsorship swap, moving from longtime sponsor Billabong to sign a 10-year commitment with industry powerhouse Quiksilver. The ‘Portuguese Tiger’ will be rockin his new gear at the opening event of the season, the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, which kicks off at the end of February.
