Lacomare Wins Billabong WJC, Freestone Takes ASP World Junior Title
The inaugural ASP World Junior Tour wrapped up the 2010 season last week when Frenchman Marc Lacomare snagged the Billabong ASP World Junior Championships, allowing Aussie Jack Freestone to bring home the men’s ASP World Junior Title for Australia for the first time since Joel Parkinson won the under-21 crown in 2001. In addition to the impressive accomplishment, Freestone has earned a berth into all of the ASP PRIME events of 2011.

Buitendag Takes Billabong Women’s WJC, Arnaud Snags ASP World Junior Title
Before the men’s competition was done and dusted, South Africa’s Bianca Buitendag won the Billabong ASP Women's World Junior Championships while French talente Alizee Arnaud grabbed the 2010 ASP Women’s World Junior Title with a second place finish at the Oakley ASP World Pro Junior in Bali and an equal 3rd in Narrabeen. The prestigious crowning marks Arnaud as the third French ASP World Junior Champion in three consecutive years.

Reynolds Sidelined for Snapper by Grind TV
Progressive American mastermind Dane Reynolds is set to go under the knife following a knee injury that unfolded last season during a free-surf in Hawaii. In an effort to repair his broken wheel once and for all, the Californian has opted for surgery which will inevitably sideline Reynolds for up to 10 weeks. The good news for Reynolds is that the injury is not as severe as originally feared, but there is a chance the natural footer will miss the season opening Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.

Carissa Moore Interview on Surfline
Carissa Moore (HAW), 18, is one of the most prodigious figures in women’s surfing history. After impressing the world with wildcard appearances in select ASP Women’s World Tour events, the Oahu native made her presence known on her rookie year amongst the Top 17, snagging two event wins to finish the year at ASP Women’s World No. 3. Now that Moore has completed her education and gotten her feet wet around the globe, the Hawaiian talent is hungry to hunt down her first ASP Women’s World Title.
