G'day Fulton, Ever been sick while traveling? While most of us have at one point on a smaller trip, it's almost inevitable that you'll get at least something little like a stomach bug while you're out traveling for a year. And with all the fun and adventure of being on the road, it can be hard to stay healthy while traveling, another reason why choosing the right travel insurance is so important. This month, we're looking at tips for staying healthy on the road.
 - Vitamins - Some travelers swear by EmergenC or comparable vitamin C/electrolyte packets, while others are more concerned with getting a daily balance. You can also try taking a homeopathic remedy like No Jet Lag before and during flights, especially long ones.
- Stay away from any known or suspected allergenic foods. This one seems like a no-brainer, but can often be trickier to practice on the road. It's also a smart idea to get your allergy translated into the local language, so if all else fails, you have a better chance of explaining your allergy.
- Two drink maximum per night, with some days of no drinking. When you're on a one week trip, your body will generally forgive you for a few too many drinks, but during an RTW, just like if you were going out every night back home -- too many late nights can add up pretty quickly.
- Less is more: Eat less food than you want to... [some days!]
- Take naps whenever you can. There will always be more to see!
- Take advantage of cheap health enhancers - acupuncture, massage, hot springs... you'll often find while traveling that what you might classify as a "splurge" item back home is 10% of of the price while traveling.
- Meditate - Whether you want to call it meditation, mindfulness or just taking a break, a few moments dedicated to calm during a whirlwind of travel can make a nice impact on your day.
