Slater’s Reign Continues!
Current 10-Time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater reasserted his dominance amongst the world’s best surfers last week by winning his 46th elite ASP World Tour event when he defeated Taj Burrow to take out his third Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast title and the early lead on the 2011 ASP World Title Rankings after Snapper Rocks roared to life to deliver firing waves after a week of lay days.

Moore Takes the Roxy Pro
ASP Women’s World Tour sophomore Carissa Moore was the winner of the Roxy Pro Gold Coast in what the majority of surfing fans are claiming was the most impressive day of female surfing the globe has ever seen. Moore, who is now the early season leader for the 2011 ASP Women’s World Title, topped 16-year old sensation Tyler Wright in a stunning final to take the hard-earned victory, her fourth on the elite stage.

Kerr Wins Boost Mobile SurfSho
ASP World Tour surfer Josh Kerr lived up to his reputation of one of the world’s top aerialists by winning the Boost Mobile SurfSho last week by punting a massive mute air reverse to edge out reigning ASP World Junior Champ Jack Freestonetone. The Gold Coast native earned an impressive $25,000 check at the ASP Specialty event over an impressive list of above-the-lip talent including Taj Burrow, Owen Wright and Julian Wilson.

Burton Toyota Pro is ON
The men’s ASP 4-Star Burton Toyota Pro and women’s ASP 6-Star Legendary Pacific Coast Pro has kicked off at Merewether in Newcastle this week and with current ASP World Title No. 2 Taj Burrow leading the draw that includes Bede Durbidge and Ace Buchan, this 4-Star event is packing some of surfing’s biggest names. Carrying the torch on the women’s front will be ASP Women’s World Runner-up Sally Fitzgibbons and fiery rookie Laura Enever, so don’t miss any of this star-studded event!

ASP Dream Tour campaigner Dan Ross has picked up a new major sponsor, inking a deal with the  environmentally savvy outerwear brand, Patagonia. The Top 34 workhorse is the newest ambassador for the brand and the sole representative flying the Patagonia flag among the crop of ASP Dream Tour talent.
