With Joel Parkinson (AUS), 29, out to defend his Vans Triple Crown title and masses of top pros in the draw, the O’Neill World Cup is set to dish up some exciting action.

O’Neill Women’s World Cup is Underway The eighth and final stop on the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour, the O’Neill Women’s World Cup, has decided its Quarterfinalists and now that Stephanie Gilmore (AUS), 22, has wrapped up her fourth consecutive title in Puerto Rico, she’s out to snag her third Vans Triple Crown title. With the Vans Triple Crown still up for grabs and the battle for requalification on the line for several of the world’s best, the girls won’t be holding anything back at Sunset.

Al Hunt Hits 1,000 Al Hunt is an institution within the ASP. The big man, from Bateau Bay on New South Wales’ Central Coast, has served in a variety of crucial positions and has been instrumental in the development of the sport since its inception. This week, Hunt attended his 1,000th professional surfing event at the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing at Sunset Beach on Oahu’s North Shore. The accomplishment is symbolic of a life dedicated to ensuring the fledging sport of surfing was ushered from its humble beginnings to its current state as an international sensation.

Kling and Peterson Claim ASP North America Titles ASP Dream Tour competitor Gabe Kling (USA), 30, snagged the title of ASP North America champion with a string of impressive results throughout the nation’s three ASP PRIME events including an amazing win at the 6.0 Lowers Pro in what some were calling the most progressive surfing event of all time. Rising star Lakey Peterson (USA), 16, grabbed the title on the ladies front by storming past several ASP Women’s World Tour surfers to take an equal 3rd place finish at the US Open of Surfing in her first career ASP Star Series event!
